Two Months to Election Day, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison Vulnerable in Latest Poll
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Two months to Election Day, Jim Schultz is within striking distance as Ellison continues to be controversial and getting under 50 percent of the vote. Ellison’s position in polling shows his lackluster among Minnesotans.
The new poll shows Ellison leading his Republican opponent, Jim Schultz by a mere 6 points, 46% to 40%.
“Keith Ellison and his radical liberal activism in the Attorney General’s office is well known from supporting Defund the Police to attacking employers so controversial and as a result less than 50% of Minnesotans would vote for him today,” said MNAN board member Kendall Qualls. “This points to a huge opportunity for Jim Schultz to continue closing this race as we hit the final stretch of the campaign.”
“With Ellison’s support dropping as the election draws near, it is obvious that the people of Minnesota have begun to realize that his extremist leftisit policies, such as pushing the defund the police movement, have fostered an environment of unsafe, violent behavior which puts the lives of the Minnesotan people at risk.”
From the KSTP story: “Anytime you have an incumbent like Keith Ellison, attorney general, running below 50%, you have a competitive race,” says Carleton College political analyst Steven Schier. “Ellison was controversial four years ago. He’s controversial now. He ran a very close race four years ago, and it looks like another close race this time.”
