When asked to talk about his support of Jim Schultz for Minnesota Attorney General, Qualls noted that in order to win, everyone has to work together “we cannot put it all on the shoulders of the candidate.” When discussing Minnesota Action Network's role Qualls stated that “It is our job to hold [Ellison] accountable and we are going to help remove him from office.”
Qualls is focused on removing Keith Ellison from office due to his dereliction of duty as Attorney General, saying “he swore an oath to protect the constitution. He swore an oath to protect the citizens and he has been falling way short on both.” Keith Ellison has continued to lead the charge in the “defund the police movement”, despite the people of Minneapolis voting against the movement last fall.
“Whether you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent or even agnostic, your safety is paramount to the job of any public official and he [Ellison] has fallen down on that issue. We were never Detroit, we were never Chicago and that’s what Minneapolis has become because of Keith Ellison. He was on watch when the rioting and looting happened and the burning of the city and he was in the ear of the governor,” said Qualls when asked about Ellison’s failures as Attorney General.
