Woodland Elementary School asks parents to fill substitute teacher shortage

Governor Walz continues to overreach and negatively impact our state’s education system. He recentely asked convening lawmakers to enact vaccine and testing mandates on Minnesota teachers. If passed, these measures would significantly impact schools across the state, only adding to the labor shortage issue among Minnesota teeachers.

One school district is already experiencing a struggle in filling substitute teacher positions, and last week sent out a public announcement asking parents to consider standing in amid a substitute teacher shortage. If Governor Walz’s mandates go into effect, schools like Woodland Elementary may encounter an even more difficult time finding qualified substitute teachers who are willing to endure the state’s onerous protocols.

Parents expected Governor Walz to prioritize having teachers in classrooms instead of adding to the strain school districts are experiencing. Governor Walz has proven time and again that he cares more about politics than common sense policies.
