Minnesota Poll: Attorney General Keith Ellison and Jim Schultz locked in close race

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. - With less than two months until general elections and the violent crime rate in the state still at a record high due to Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s soft on crime policies, the people of Minnesota are showing signs that they’ve had enough.

The newest poll found that when asked who they would vote for if general elections were held today, 46% of people support Ellison, while 45% favor Schultz, well within the margin of error (3.5%).

As the race continues to heat up Schultz continues to emphasize his stance of addressing crime across the state. Meanwhile Ellison, who was a supporter in the “defund the police” movement, attempts to divert the focus of the race towards the issue of abortion rather than recognize his failures in combating the record high violent crime rates the state has suffered.

“Obviously the people of Minnesota are starting to see Keith Ellison for who he truly is - an extreme-leftist politician who allows crime to germinate like weeds throughout the state,” said Kendall Qualls, MN Action Network Boardmember. “Tackling the high crime rates is a top priority for the public and Keith Ellison has simply failed to recognize that. Failure to replace Ellison with Jim Schultz will lead to huge consequences for families everywhere. In two months, the people of Minnesota have the opportunity to reset the course of crime and violence that Ellison has set and I hope, for the sake of our state, Jim Schultz is elected as Minnesota Attorney General.”
