In a Rebuke of Ellison’s Anti-Law Enforcement Policies, Nearly Two Dozen Minnesota Sheriffs Endorse Jim Schultz
MINNEAPOLIS, MN. - Yesterday, twenty-two Minnesota county sheriffs gathered to endorse Jim Schultz as he works to unseat the soft-on-crime Attorney General Keith Ellison.
The support of so many sheriffs proves how critical this race is to many across the state, many who have been dealing with record crime in their communities. Schultz has pushed the importance of cracking down on crime throughout the state during the campaign while Ellison pushes the opposite ‘Defund the Police’ movement- a movement that has created an unprecedented rise of violent crime.
Ellison has proven time and again he puts criminals over law enforcement and our communities. He refuses to denounce the ‘defund dozen’, top leaders and organizations who have called for the defunding of the police. He has established himself as the worst law enforcement AG in the country by allowing crime to flow through the state unchecked.
Officers across the state are joining together to support Schultz because they know that he will stand with them and combat the high rate of violent crimes that have cultivated under Ellison’s watch.
“The show of support from county sheriff's shows how so many Minnesotans feel - Keith Ellison puts criminals over law enforcement and our communities,” said Kendall Qualls, MN Action Network Boardmember. “People are scared, both for themselves and for their loved ones. It really is something to live in a state where the chief law enforcement officer has done absolutely nothing to maintain the safety and well-being of its citizens. Jim Schultz is the change that we all need and this is just the beginning of a new wave of safety and security for the Minnesotan people.”
